Andrea Renzi

Redazione

Eclectic and creative, Andrea comes from commercial and technical studies to land on the complex world of web content in the late nineties, treating the preparation of content for various institutional and academic web portals (for example, the Web Portal of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures of the University of Rome, La Sapienza).

Andrea is a workaholic; 24 hours doesn’t seem to be enough for him: He is a smooth bartender, a plodding Property Manager, well-rounded writer of poetry, fiction and essays.

He is fond of literature, theater and cinema, he studied film screenwriting producing several plots for short films and movies. For passion he commits to music, which is very skilled at (it's his the appendix on "hate music" in a geopolitical essay dedicated to racism and extremism on the Internet), also singing in a band, inspired by the Brechtian verfremdung.

Curious, creative, always being in a tizzy to bring new projects to fruition, he stands as an eternal seeker, commiting himself to the various studies that involves him currently: information technology, languages, Eastern philosophies and cultures, environmentally friendly economies, communications and marketing.

For all these interests and skills, Andrea is the right one to organize the whole spectrum of the editorial work concerning Guglielmo Marconi’s brilliant intuitions.

Silvia Zirone

Silvia Zirone graduated at the Institute of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators of Trieste (SSLMIT), with a thesis about audiodescription for blind people.

Freelance interpreter and translator, she works primarily in publishing sector as a translator. For instance, she works with a young publishing house in Trieste for which she has already translated some historical essays, from English into Italian.

Fond of cinema, she loves reading and travelling to discover new realities and cultures.

Simona Melchiori

Simona Maria Melchiori graduated in 2002 in Modern Languages and Literatures at the University of Rome – La Sapienza, then again at the SSLIMIT - Institute of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators of Trieste - in Interpretation and Translation in 2006.

Back in Rome, he began to work as a freelance translator and interpreter by co-operating with Dr. Daniela Altomonte in the field of film adaptation and dubbing (for example, she has worked on TV series like Cold Case).

She also had working experiences in the tourism sector - in the hotel business and with a tour operator - after passing a course for hotel receptionist and Revenue Management expert.

He has worked as a translator and translation co-ordinatior for important international projects of Law Enforcement and Business Intelligence with Alessandro Rossi and the ICAA - International Crime Analysis Association.

She currently works as a translator with Save the Children Italy and as an interpreter at the Biopark of Rome.

Ilaria Frediani

She graduated in Hebrew language and literature with a thesis on the origins of Yiddish theatre in 2003. She continues cultivating linguistic and literary interests by maintaining a constructive cooperation with the chair in Yiddish language and literature at the University of Siena.

English is her lifelong passion, that she also cultivated at the university, where she took some exams of language and literature. She worked and works as a translator and free-lance chuchotage interpreter in international context (ie the International Congress of Law and Mental Health, University of Bremen International Woche, etc..).

She is currently working on the translation of an ancient representation of Purim, and on the translation from German of Introduction to Kabbalah, written by Professor Davidowitsz (Department of African Studies, University of Vienna), forthcoming.

Cristiana Carosi

Cristina Carosi graduated in Psychology in 2003, during her stay of 6 years in New Zealand where she also began working as a freelance translator and interpreter. Back in Italy, in 2005 she graduated in Sciences of Linguistic Mediation. She has been working as a literary and commercial translator for nearly a decade.

She has collaborated with a website of contemporary Chilean poetry, supervising the Italian section of the site. She has taught literary translation from Spanish into Italian for the Master of Literary and Scientific-Technical Translation at Telematica Guglielmo Marconi University in Rome. She has experience in film translation. By a number of years, she has became closed to literary movements in contemporary Chilean poetry translating texts of poetry and fiction in Italian.

She is currently working on an anthology of contemporary Patagonian literature.
